Lesson Plans

Lesson Plans

To accompany IU CORG’s educational learning tools, we are developing a library of teacher created and inquiry-based lesson plans. These resources help teachers to extend the content and skills of our resources.

Features of the lessons include primary source integration, guiding questions and activities, development of historical skills and competencies, and adaptability for different grades.

They encourage students to draw their own conclusions and develop a nuanced understanding of their role as citizens while making learning both interactive and investigative.

Please check back here often as we add more lesson plans over the coming weeks and months.

Action Citizen Lesson Plans

Clean Air Inquiry

This inquiry is designed for one class period and leads students to learn about historical examples of activism against air pollution in the U.S. It also can be used alongside the Clean Air module in the Action Citizen game.
