The Hamilton Public Service Fellowship honors the ideal of public service and the career of Lee Hamilton, who served 34 years in the U.S. House of Representatives, retired from office in 1999, and founded the IU Center on Congress, now the Center on Representative Government.
Hamilton is a Distinguished Scholar at the IU School of Global and International Studies and Professor of Practice at the IU School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
The purpose of the fellowship is to bring to Bloomington a person of civic prominence to present a public lecture, talk to classes, and meet informally with students, faculty, and the broader community.
